《民间词话》相比较于王国维先生的《人间词话》，就如同下里巴人与阳春白雪，打油诗和宫廷词，民谣曲与美声腔。摒弃华丽之风，取之于民间日常。它的哲学命题是一日三餐，是待人处事，而非“To be or not to be”或者生命的意义。
Compared with Wang Guowei's Poetic Remarks on the Human World, it is just like highbrow and lowbrow, limericks and court Ci, folk song and bel canto. It abandons the magnificent style and taken from the folk daily life. Its philosophical proposition is to eat three meals a day, to treat people and do things, rather than "to be or not to be" or the meaning of life.
The poster of ‘The Folk Words’ is composed of two portraits which on the front and side, but the rough outline without face and emotion does not convey any features. Only the daily words are recorded. Each label has one word. Some are negative and some are cheerful. They are trivial and scattered, gradually become a miniature of life. The labels become clues, which can be traced. It's not just two human figures of the same person but means all kinds of ordinary living statement. It's me or you, and some truth of the ordinary life.
