Project Background

 

「拾」,有「重新捡起来」之意,「间」,即「空间」。「拾间」,即拾回原本的空间。

 

「拾间」是一门诚心诚意的手艺,除此之外,便不做出更多的象征与设计干预。「拾间」的老匠师执着钟情于土木竹林的本色之美,在乎让设计谦退到原始的亲切感觉,因为珍木自身亦有其生命,它只要在那里,就使人安心。所以”拾间”的讲究自然的质素,追求造型的最简洁,反对奇技淫巧,为每一个作品留出最大的余地,让人不觉其重其满,不费心机。在使用欣赏的过程中,可以把舒适拾拣进去,把光阴拾拣进去,把喜乐拾拣进去,把世景拾拣进去,一同参与自然的变化,加工至无穷。

 

SHIJIAN is an brand for sincere with the heritage of Chinese design and craftsmanship.The brand chief designer Feng Zhifeng established SHIJIAN with modern China lifestyle founded on finest of Chinese design traditions.

 

SHIJIAN name is simple which have same pronounce like “time”in Chinese but used in different words. SHI used “拾“in Chinese which is a verb that means pick something up and tidy. SHIJIAN pick the heritage of Chinese culture and its sublime aesthetics up then infuses into SHIJIAN’s products. JIAN used”间“in Chinese which is a noun that means space and time. Therefore, SHIJIAN means preserves the historical beauty and back to hand made time.

不刻意追求表面上的玄妙,「拾间」的设计以非常朴实善意的简练,让使用它的人拾拣起一种清雅的心境,并随着相互之间的陪伴,延展出属于每个人的「拾间」美学。

 

The design of SHIJIAN is very simple and concise, not deliberately pursuing the superficial mystery.The design enables users to have a peaceful and elegant mood. Along with the company of SHIJIAN, users may extend their own SHIJIAN aesthetics.

「拾间」最初的想法其实源于一个特别单纯的动机,虽然我们所设计的作品存留着文化的接续传承,但是「拾间」并不会特别强调功能与使用之外的寓意,「拾」就是「重新捡起来」的意思,而「间」就是「空间」,其实就是「重新收拾自己的空间」的想法。当然,人们看到「拾间」以及我们的作品时,可能会联想到某些时代,我们曾经的美学生活被拾拣起来,在这些设计中重新获得了连接,走进当下。但对于我而言,我更在乎拾拣起更接近器物本质的设计,比如对于素材原始质感的表达是否恰到好处?人们的心情是否会因「重新收拾」的设计而产生清朗潇湘的感应。

 

The initial idea of SHIJIAN was rooted in a special pure motives, our products keep culture heritage, “SHI”in Chinese means take something up, “JIAN”means space. When people look at our products, they might realize the interaction between the traditional mortise and tenon joint structure and modern aesthetics. But for me, I care more about implementing the design of the essence, such as how to show the materials natural pure, is people feel simple relax when they touch “SHIJIAN”? I hope the design of “SHIJIAN”would let the users feel the kind of elegant environment and mood, and deliver the aesthetics created by “SHIJIAN”.

We always think and explore from a people-oriented perspective. It is our perception and sensitivity that makes us different. Always putting ourselves in shoes of users and daily life senarios, we are able to conceive, practice more beautiful possibilities to create an ideal life. The project presents new products and images with a new brand soul through a solution full of life aesthetics spirit, fragrance and fun. It advocates a lifestyle that is true but powerful, which enables people to boldly imagine a better life and make it come true in daily life.
