Project Background

 

“由一个曲面创建的各种空间,以及像是被包裹起来的屋顶空间。“

一个大曲面形成了有着不同天花板高度的“房间“,并在其屋顶上方形成了一个像盘子一样的被包裹起来的空间。这个结构打造了在密集住宅区的开放式的内部空间,并通过屋顶形成了具有隐私性的空间。

 

‘Various under-roof spaces created by one curved surface and rooftop space is like wrapped up.’

One large curved surface creates one room with different ceiling heights under different places, and a softly wrapped space, like a dish, above it. It secures an open interior space suitable for dense residential areas and a rooftop space with moderate privacy at the same time.

“如何制作新的曲面/如何用平面材料制作曲面”

通常,制作曲面的方法是:

1.如何用RC制作曲面

2.制作具有多边形结构的曲面和装饰材料的方法

3.弯曲层压木板/建造H弯曲钢以使平面弯曲

(1)和(3)成本昂贵,并且(2)需要耗费大量的时间和精力、并且会使板坯变厚。

因此,我们考虑使用横截面又薄又平的平面材料,通过重力和张力来形成新的曲面。

(1) and (3) have the side that the cost is expensive, and (2) requires a lot of time and effort, and also thickens the slab. Therefore, we considered how to make a new curved surface by using a flat material with a very thin and flat cross section and generated a curved surface by gravity and tension.

“弯曲屋顶和耐张材料的应力变化。”

人站在屋顶上时,下面垂直立柱上的张力就越小。根据设计,只要不超过150人(40千克/平方米)时,就不会产生过大的压力。有效载荷和张力保持了建筑物的形状。

 

“精密木材/为层压木材设计薄层阵列。”

木材的杨氏模量取决于对相似材料进行破坏性测试所获得的平均值,或者取决于工厂中粗糙的等级测试(根据强度进行分类)。即使木材源自于同一棵树、且杨氏模量相同,但木材是有生命的,因此每一块木材都具有不同的特性和强度,如果不进行测试就无法知道每块木材的实际强度。

 

与钢铁和RC不同,我们无法通过结构计算而精确地预测木材的性能,所以在设计之时需要考虑较大的安全系数。制造层压木材的工厂也同意这个观点。

因此,如果对所有使用的木材进行非破坏性强度测试,则可以获得精确的单个构件强度、以确保性能与预期一致,这就与钢结构很相似。在该项目中,我们根据对大约1100块层压木板薄层的载荷测试所获得的具体数据来设计层压木板的薄层阵列,并由此制造了12块“精密木材”。

 

‘Wood tension material like extra-fine columns.’

To prevent the interior space from being overly dominated by structural principles, the tension material is Hinoki rather than wire. This has created a wooden structure that is not much different from usual, except for the curved and very flat beams where the proportions of the pillars do not seem to support the roof.

 

‘Changing stress on curved roof and tension material.’

The more a person rides on the rooftop, the smaller the tension on the lower vertical pillar, and it is designed so that compression is not applied until a maximum of 150 people (40 kg / ㎡) is reached. The payload and tension keep the shape of the building while deducting from time to time.

 

‘Precision wood / Designing lamina arrays for laminated timber.’

Young’s modulus of wood is determined by the average value obtained by destructive inspection of many similar materials, or by a very rough grade test in the factory (classification according to strength). Even if they have the same trees and Young’s modulus, since wood is alive, it has different properties and strengths, and the actual wood strength of each unique piece cannot be known without destructive testing.

 

Therefore, unlike steel and RC, it is not possible to precisely predict the behavior of timber by structural calculation, so the design is made with a large safety factor, and that idea has already been adopted from the laminated timber manufacturing plant.

So, it was thought that if non-destructive strength tests were conducted on all the wood used, precise individual member strengths that were quite similar to steel frames and behaviors consistent with structural calculations could be obtained. In this plan, 12 ‘precision wood’ pieces were manufactured by designing the arrangement of the lamina based on the individual data obtained by carrying the load test of about 1100 lamina.

How does the project reflect to the exhibition theme ‘Cultural Bay Area • Humanistic Design’ 

 

在山王办公室中,我们计划在建造一个具有大面积办公空间的建筑。而项目所在地的市区有许多两层楼的房屋,因此,我们想有效地利用屋顶作为人们可以放松的空间。把屋顶表面做成“盘子状”的立体曲面,让身在其中的人感觉到自己被建筑包围,而不仅仅是站在一个平坦的屋顶。而且这个屋顶并没有任何扶手或墙壁。

 

此外,在屋顶上行走的人造成的轻微蓬松的振动让我感到施加在屋顶上的张力。通过建筑设计与施工,我们创造了很多空间,但是我们觉得我们能够采用新的木制立体弯曲面的方法来创建更加人性化的建筑。

 

In Office in Sanno, we planned an office with a large building area over the entire site in an urban area with many two-story houses, and at that time, we wanted to effectively utilize the rooftop space as a space where people can relax. By making the roof surface a "bowl-shaped" cubic curved surface, you can feel that you are surrounded by architecture rather than just a flat roof, and establish a rooftop space without handrails or walls as a place for people.

 

In addition, the slight fluffy vibrations of a person walking on the roof make me feel the tension that acts on it. We have created many places with the construction of the architecture, but we feel that we were able to create a more humanistic place using the new wooden cubic curved construction method.
